Letter Etiquette?

Poll question!

Has using "Dear so and so" at the beginning of letters or emails generally become a social faux pas in today's society, or is it determined based on individual preference?

Sunday Morning

Praying in the morning, it's very bright inside, and I can hardly see.

Perhaps that's an attribute, really, for it leaves me quite free-

to believe in angels, and Christ, and communion, to believe in the people around me,

because I cannot see anyone, or anything, I am quite blind, so I can believe it all exists visibly, eternally.

Faith because I'm blind and silent in light.

Or in other words, Robin-bird, Jane and I have started a band.

I suppose, the first thing that struck me post the 2008 election, was how very sorry I am for Mrs. McCain. From what I have read, she seems to be a very private sort of person, and going through such a campaign could not have been anything short of grueling. 

I do realize how many political issues were at stake, how very important this election was, but when it's all said and done, I hope Mrs. McCain can find consolation somewhere. :(

An admirable woman, severely tested by adversity. If nothing else, I very am glad to know about her now!
