Density of the morning weighing down
on my slight shoulders like a coat too large,
I push open the doors and look outside.

Delight freezes my mind and breath at once,
slowly replacing density with blood,
-warm and living- as I watch the wind fall.

Fall upon the swirling cold, pushing leaves
down upon the bike basket and car wheel.
A moment all complete unto itself.

-Sometimes that's just all you need for the day.
